Chrome will no longer display the Chromecast controls in its Chrome UI following the restart. In those cases, you’ll need to completely close Chrome - or shut off your Chromebook - and then restart it again. In some cases, Chrome will still not enact the change. Chrome needs to be restarted and reset to enable the change. Chrome will then present an option, typically along the bottom of the page, to “Relaunch” Chrome. Tap or click to select the “Disabled” option. Tap or click on the drop-down menu to reveal secondary options “Enabled” and “Disabled”. 
The setting, on arrival, should read “Default” unless it was previously set to “Enabled”
Next to the setting, Chrome will present a drop-down menu box. 
That will read “#global-media-controls-for-cast”
The page should change to showcase one or more experimental features but the top one should have the title, shown in bold font, “Global Media Controls for Cast.” That will also have a hashtag identifier after its description. So you’ll want to be careful to only interact with the hidden experimental setting shown in the images below and described here And that changing other settings can potentially break Chrome. It’s important to note here that the feature we’re looking for is specific. Enter “Global Media Controls for Cast” into that box and press the enter key. On the resulting page, there will be a search bar along the top of the UI.
